About Amy Winehouse: As the niece of a professional jazz players, Amy Winehouse grew up musically inclined and formed her first group at the age of 10. Amy Winehouse's 2003 debut album Frank was critically successful in the UK, while her 2006 follow-up album Back to Black earned her 6 Grammy Award nominations and 5 wins, tying the record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night.

However, her singing career was deeply marred by her addiction to drugs and alcohol, as well as her unsteady marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil, a former video production assistant, who spent a stint in jail for trying to pervert the course of justice as well as a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent.

With her mountainous lines of cocaine, the gigantic horse-filled needles, self harm, body issues and an incarcerated husband – none of them conventional ingredients for a long and happy life.

She was found at the property by emergency services at 3:54pm, and it's believed Winehouse's death was due to a suspected drug overdose. She was apparently beyond help when paramedics arrived.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.
